This is awesome and on some level kind of practical as it allows you to scout ahead for a clear path in traffic.
Not sure how far I would want to ride it though.....

tall bike to low rider... neat but why would you want to commute on it in either mode?

The kitchen manager at my workplace commutes 2 miles on a 70 pound lowrider in the summer. He says the downhill going to work isn't bad, but heading home is a bear.

So it is a bi-mode bike that is less useful in either mode than any of OUR normal commuters.

Great way to avoid dog attacks, but probably not too practical for everyday commuting!

I would love to have one of those. I'd prefer less of a high and less of a low, but I'd still LOVE to have one of those.

The street scenes looked like Moscow, which is generally not a bicycle friendly place. The inventor of that machine gets an A+ for creativity and engineering ability, regardless of the practical merits. Maybe the idea of more elevation while pedaling is to be able to see over the the cars and look way down the road. Or, maybe just to get the attention of the motorists? Regardless, Moscow is a tough place to pedal so I guess the locals will try different things to make it possible to ride down the street.

When I posted this over on facebook, a friend who lived in Russia for a while said the same thing (about Moscow being bike hostile).

That was exactly my take too.
Obviously not a distance machine but in the mealy of Moscow during rush hour it is probably an elegant solution for picking a way through logjam traffic for short haul around town.
Wonder if it is available in all chrome???

I've given it some though, and if the "low" was more like a touring bike, that would be awesome for it.. put it in high and pitch your tent right on your bike fullsize.
