Storing bikes an a apartment

My wife and I moved into a smaller apartment and I need a good way to store my two bikes.... a road bike and a commuter. I was thinking of hanging them from a J hook that will be connected to the ceiling.

Any other recomendations?

Thats I did. Its actually hanging at an angle to the bay window next to my bed. Make sure you find a post or wood beam to screw that hook.

Bikes: See sig

I got one of these, and I am very happy with it. It comes with hangers for 2 bikes, and you can store up to 4 bikes on it if you get 2 more hangers and pull it away from the wall a little.

Wood or PVC rack for me as I think I'd pay dearly with hooks in the ceiling.

Bikes: I have 3 singlespeed/fixed gear bikes

I have 3 bikes and I live in a 1 bedroom apt. I have a small storage room inside my apt, I keep two of my bikes in there and one inside my living room, another option is to store them on a balcony. I have some heavy plastic sheet with some thick carpet on the floor beside my door. That way I don't mess up the floor. In winter time I always carry a little brush with me and brush off as much snow and slush as I can before going inside.

Bikes: Too many. Giant Trance X 29, Surly Midnight Special get the most time.

I used to live in a tiny one room apartment. Here's the solution I used:

This solution may not work as well if you're not single and care very little about how nice anything looks. Not having a deposit was awesome; I could drill into the ceiling without consequence.

My wife and I decided to go with this:

https://www.cycloc.com/

We got ab etter deal on it then the price in that website. We only ordered one to see how it really works. The space we are working with is small and awkward. I dont want to keep my bikes out on the bacolony so I hope this works!

That looks interesting, but the price on the website is quite high for what it appears to be...

The last one isn't too bad, but the first few make me want to vomit.

You can easily mount one above the other if you are tight on space.

I didnt even think about Etsy. GRRRR.

For my wife to let me put the bikes in the living room (or hell.... even in the apartment alone) the rack has to be stylish. Dont ask me why..... it is what it is. So I ordered one to see if it would work. I know it would work for my road bike but I am skeptical about my mtn bike commuter. So thats why we just ordered one.

I got them for a better price off of another website though. Did not pay anywhere close to full retail.

This isn’t mine but I liked the idea and saved the photo. I made one similar from old bars and mounted it to a pole beside the garage and use it for bike cleaning.

If you have the old stem to go with the old drop bars, I thought I would use the stem also and figure out a way to make the stem fit into a block that could be attached to the wall. The stem will hold it out away from the wall and give you more room for the bars on the hanging bike. I think people using them on this take off peddles and turn the stem.
