Damp but no rain. 58F/14C, calm wind. I took the MUP, and saw lots of Canada Geese floating in Lake Champlain. Also saw a very pretty blonde out for a run. :o We exchanged hellos.

Another nice morning here in the twin cities,MN and I also did my best time of commuting into work on my bike. I did it in 25min 47sec with a 18.6mph avs on my 8mi route one way.
|
55° No wind. Light sprinkles. I got soaking wet from road spray. I'm normally a fair weather commuter due to not having rain gear yet and no fenders on the Trek 1500. This was my first wet commute because the car is broke. I have discovered that all the road spray from the front wheel ends up on my shoes. Everything else was just damp but my feet were soaking wet and cold. I packed extra socks and underwear in backpack. My work uniform is at work. All in all not bad. Now I want the Surely LHT I've been eyeballing for months even more. And good rain gear. :-)

i had my first really wet commute in to work in a while. the weather radar only showed light drizzle before i left, but it built into some regular rain along my 15 mile route.
at least it wasn't downpours. |
Dark!...Dense fog...mid forties...no wind. Yesterday I noticed a lady in her driveway on hands and knees with a flashlight poking the pavement like she was looking for something...She was back again Today doing the same thing so I stopped and asked what she was looking for and offered to help her...She laughed. She was pulling weeds out of the cracks in her driveway so she could seal them. :)

Very nice sun, medium head wind, cool 9 C, nice ride!

Two days in a row without my bicycle. :( Yesterday, I had a dentist appt and an appt at the lawyers (boy, do I know how to party, or what? :p) so I rode the motorcycle to work.
Today, I have to take a couple of my computers in for repair, and I'm borrowing a Sawsall from a friend for a project, so I needed the truck. I hate driving when the weather's this nice! It's chilly, but still clear and sunny. |
Fought a strong wind all the way home last night, felt a lot like riding on a flat tire with rubbing brakes. It had been cloudy all day but the sun came out just in time to be right in my eyes.
5C wind an alternating tail / head wind this morning. I was reasonably comfortable with just my longsleeve baselayer on my upper body. For the ride home I'll have to put on my jacket and maybe shoe covers since it will be windy again. The high for the next 3 days is 6C, with the temperature dropping to -10C Thursday night. |

Still summer in Sacramento. 100F at 5:15pm when I left the office yesterday. Nobody loves summer as much as I do, but enough is enough.
|
I forgot to mention the oddest part of today's commute. I normally try to avoid running over branches and twigs, but there is one road where its unavoidable, so I just try to avoid the bigger stuff. As I was riding a twig got kicked up into my crank and mashed onto my middle chain ring by the chain. I had to stop and it was a bit tricky to remove since I need to have the various pieces aligned in the small spot where they weren't held in place by the chain.
The ride home was slow and tough. I've got to start wearing the tights I bought instead of my jogging pants. The jogging pants stretch against my upper leg increasing the resistance as I pedal. |
Incredibly warm and humid weather here for October. Temps were in the mid-70s at 6 am, and it was so humid my glasses kept fogging up even when moving fast downhill. It feels more like August than October.
|
Same here, cool in the morning, but very humid. I'm ready for the cool dry fall weather...if we get any...
Kinda weird this morning, it was clear as I rode in, but I looked out the door at 10:00am and it was foggy as ever.. |
New tires - Vittorio Randonneur Pro ? - so a little wider, a little softer, and fall winds a little higher = +2-5 minutes each way.
It doesn't get easier, just faster. LOL If I can get as fast on these tires as the stockers, come spring I will CRUSH my commute. We'll see. LOL |
Very warm at 71f (22c). As I started on my last leg, it started to rain lightly. This was a surprise to me as it was supposed to be a picture
perfect day. 3rd day in row bringing my bike into the lobby. I was asked yesterday by one of the good guards, if I knew that I was not supposed to bring the bike in, and I said yeah, I know, but it doesn't do the bike any good to sit out in the rain. I offered to bring it into my office, which I do also in heavy rains, but there is always the urge to adjust things when it is that close to me. |
HIt those light sprinkles coming in...also had to give a stare down to an impatient driver turning left in front of me. Left my badge in my helmet which I put in my shelf...spent about 20 minutes retracing my steps all over the office to find it.

I had to take the motor vehicle today as I have an eye doctors appointment in the middle of the day. So I will go from work and come back after the appt. I can also stop at another store while out and get another errand done. I am not happy about being in the motor vehicle as tomorrow I have to take it again. We are leaving at 11:30 tomorrow to head up north for the long weekend, I will need to get home asap so as to leave before all the traffic begins. I want to enjoy the long weekend, but I want to bike even more.

Considering the last couple of weeks of cool (2C-8C) rides in the mornings, this morning's 14C was actually too warm. Slight dampness on the road from last night's light showers so it was humid too. However, this weekend, Canadian Thanksgiving, is predicted to have a bit of snow flurries as Saturday night/Sunday morning dips to -1C. The rest of this week and next are forecast for low morning temperatures, 0C to 2C and daily highs of 7C to 10C so I'll need to be prepared for the cool weather rides in both directions.

57F, very nice ride. A lot of debris in the bike lane today. from glass to dead animals to a cell phone (the only thing I know of I hit). Nice ride in, I think it rained yesterday afternoon (my day off) maybe it washed the stuff out.
|
Ah, this is a tricky one. At work, they are moving me to another room. Okay, so I had bring some luggage to move my stuff to the other room. But, I want ride by bike too. How did I do that? Genius! ;) I put the bike rack on my truck, loaded up my 79 Raleigh, put the stuff I needed for moving in the truck. Got to work early. Did the move, un hitched my bike and called my wife to get a ride to come get the truck. I will be riding the return leg of my commute this evening. ;) BTW, slight rain coming down, makes it even better! ;)

Great commute this morning with mild temps in low 70s but lower humidity than the past few days. I followed my own advice and got up when my alarm went off even though radar showed showers approaching. I missed a commute on Monday after the radar tricked me into going back to sleep, and then the rain fizzled out before it ever got here. Same thing happened today except I went ahead and got up and was rewarded with a rain-free ride.

Warmer but still in the 60s. Very humid with a light rain at times.
Overall, a nice ride in. Traffic was a bit heavier than normal, and I got buzzed again by a guy towing a trailer. Not cool, dude. |
Cold this morning, temps were reading in the mid 40s. I had to put the heavier layers on, and my hands were still a bit chilly. We're having unseasonably dry weather here, though, and I am making the most of it!

my car shut off on me this morning as i was about to merge on the interstate... luckily got to the shoulder backed up the sholder and drove home. Got the bike and rode to work...probably should have done that in the first place. other than being late it was good ride traffic was lighter at 8:30 instead of 7:20.
