I drank the Kool-Aid

went to look and buy a new commuter, and was thinking maybe try a roadie style. rode what they had in the shop, and decided against that geometry as it really would not suit the roads and traffic conditions, as well as no real way to attach fenders, racks, and all the other random freddy stuff for the daily car-free use. was a very nice bike, but i decided i needed something a little more useful. and it rained today, could just see me on that expensive beauty getting all slopped first day and no way to put fenders on it to keep it from happening
and then, a really pretty little frame caught my eye, tested it (ALWAYS ALWAYS test ride first), and bought a new specialized sirrus sport....but it did not stop there....had to get matching specialized cages......and a romin saddle......and a helmet.....and grips.....and some gloves
sweet sweet ride, and the fit is perfect for me. the most comfortable i have been on a bike in i don't know how long. i find i am faster, because i am not using muscles to try and stay positioned on the bike, but to make myself get down the road. subtract a few miles per hour when the new bike syndrome is over.
before this purchase, i had given up on bikes. tired of the discomfort, body parts falling asleep, and just plain frustration, i was going to get a bent, or quit riding. and bents are not for the urban rider, so i was gone from it all. happy to be back, even if i did too much kool-aid that day.....
