Wow, you're lucky.

I've only had one hit & run so far (and my only car hit so far), but I ended up in the hospital with a compression fracture on my spine and they never did find the jerk who hit me and took off

I did reject the San Francisco news paper so called study that claimed cyclist at fault over 50% of the time. When they are using police reports where the cyclist were repeatedly blamed based on excessive speed. Really, the cyclist is so many of those cases was speeding and the motorist were not.
I certainly wouldn't play Russian Roulette with those odds!

It seems a bit strange the OP didn't want to get into the minor stuff like "details".

No, but there are a lot of big, steep hills. ;-)

Just following protocol. But thanks for the vote of confidence.

Actually, no it doesn't. Lawyers and insurance companies have employees on their payroll whose job it is to surf The Net looking for details of crashes to either deny a claim or to mitigate the responsibility of their client in the crash.

So why make the lawyers/insurance companies job easier by posting details about a crash?

Just joined the club this morning. Minor but nevertheless sucks. I know I'm biased, but I'd say the driver was completely at fault.
