times are changin

hi Folks, We have just hit autumn here and after lots of wet weather, we now have glorious cycling weather to look forward to for several months - until November at least. Riding home yesterday my senses were filled with beauty (greenery, flowers, sunshine, little birds, children and happy friendly people on bicycles).

Spring has arrived in Northern California. I am enjoying the nice fragrances from all the bushes and dogwoods that have started blooming. We'll all get some nice biking weather :-)

Got me! Had to do a double take on the date then check your location!
Last year people were Ice Skating on the streets In Atlanta (something I never thought I would see). This winter has been like Summer In Michigan. Very little Freezing weather. Regret putting my convertible up in November and winterizing it. Id drove it more if it wasn't packed away.

We're coming off the first non-winter winter in many years. I've been setting personal records from Nov on. My normal winter household projects have greatly suffered as a result. The snow tires on my car have been useful only once or twice this winter. But I'm sure that if I swap them out now.... :-)

Enough of this forum. It's supposed to hit 60 today around here, about 25 degrees above normal. I think I need to get the bike out...

+1 Way more miles on my bike than my plow truck! I did miss XC skiing though.

Maybe this forum will become a bit more lively then, now seems rather slow. It's hard to get excited much about cold and wet weather commute and I bet a lot of people are just pulling their bikes out of their storage.

Depends on where you live. I grew up in NH. I don't like cold. I don't like snow. NorCal is soooooo much nicer. And the best part is.... it NEVER rains for 7 months of the year. It was 70ºF here Thursday and Friday. I got four days of riding in this week and put 110 miles. I saw a lot of people out on the road. I feel sorry for those of you who live in cold, snowy, rainy parts of the world.

Supposed to be in the 70s all week on DC...I think we're skipping spring and going straight into summer. No complaints here.

Yeah, I envy you. I'm still thinking about moving from NY, I have had enough of Winters.

Oh, there was an entire thread in Living Car Free last year dedicated to my moving, LOL, but I had a rough patch over the Winter and I'm still trying to get back to normal life so any plans I had are delayed.
