Nice! Your first commute and your first rain ride in one day. You are really ticking off the milestones quickly. Rain is fun to ride in. Try to ignore the fair weather riders who post their deepest weather fears here. They just don't get it. It's all part of the fun, and everytime you ride in crappy weather you make a deposit in the badass bank. Hope you are riding again today!

oh and BTW Surly cross checks rule!

I agree. The CrossCheck is my most ridden bike now. Aside from commuting, it is the one that I take on the roads when I need to get a quick bike fix in. Here she is in my office drying out. Pre-requisite Brooks B-17, Ortlieb rears and H-Bar bag. Garmin Edge 205. Campee Low riders front and rear. Schwalbe Marathon 700x28's on her.....sorry, I can't get the pic sized right. But here she is on a normal ride without the Ortliebshttps://www.bikeforums.net/images/attach/jpg.gif

Wow! Congratulations on the accomplishments!
I gotta say, some of the best conversations I've had with my coworkers revolved around their "brilliant" ideas to keep me dry while biking during a rain storm!

I kept being told that I was going to get pneumonia riding in the wet. I was also told that I should not be biking at my age and weight. That one was a little stupid. I told her I would have been 100lbs heavier if I didn't ride. She just shook her head>
