ah, i didn't realize they were a 511 cut. that's why they're kinda lose.
also, 109€ is getting very close to technical pants or nice jeans. it would nice to see them at half that price.

Some of you are pissed off for a very silly reason... why don't they make the commuter jeans in 'your fit'? Because the 511 is a fantastic jean for cycling in the first place. It has a narrow leg opening, it fits close, and it has a tiny bit of stretch.

This add caught my attention. Levis is marketing to commuters with reflective cuffed pants and jeans. Not sure I'm hipster enough to pull this off. But all these product design question dudes on the boards lately should be paying attention....

Comfortable, neutral (meaning after a while I don't notice them), no complaints. I did notice a bit of leg rub when pedalling, but after a while I stopped paying attention to it and there was no adverse effect on skin. I'm 6', 185 lbs, medium build (not skinny, not fat), decent leg muscles but not a macho biker. They fit and more importantly my wife thought I looked great. I bought the same size 34w-32l as my 505 jeans. However, I have noticed that the new Levis have a looser cut than my old ones - as Americans get fatter, Levi's makes their same size bigger. This is not the case with the 511's. Here's a photo of me wearing them on the bike.
They were comfortable when it was cold (7C - 45F) and then along the Elbe when it was hot (28C - 83F). Did not notice a crotch issue. Did not feel like a bike fanatic when we stopped for coffee or beer.
I'll be ordering some more from the Levi store on sale. Recommended, although can't comment on durability - I've worn them a total of about 30 days so far.

For the ladies who commented on this thread way back when - I ordered a longtail shirt and a pair of jeans from Duluth Trading Co like someone had recommended - they're very comfortable to ride in! The crotch is gussetted and the seams are unnoticeable when I ride. I got one of their "slim fit" jeans and then ordered a size up from what I usually wear and it works great.
