Need help: is the a good deal?

Hi all,

I'm going to use the bike for commuting. About 5miles one way. And do some practice in the weekend.

Is the deal in the following link a good deal? Thanks!

Yes it is. But make sure it is suited for the terrain you are going to use it for. Big potholes? Dirt road?

Thank you!

I will use the bike path and it's concrete road. So I guess I will go for it! Thanks again!

Bikes: Too many to list here

Also before you hurry up and order. I Just checked the link out and on the three bikes listed there is no description of what each one is or any of the components. If you are going to buying this in person at the shop then obviously you can ask questions to the shop employee. Otherwise I would google search the exact model and year specifically to get all the facts about the parts and components. Also you can use the shopping tab on google to get an idea of how good a deal your getting. Most shops sell previous year bikes at great prices. Hope this helps your consideration.

Thanks! Seems the Elite has 105 while Classic has Tiagra and Sora.

I don't know what your size is, but the GT GTR 4 and the Imola in that site is nicely equipped for the price.

Nothing wrong with the Le Tour with Sora, though.

Yes. But I guess the extra $100 is the tune-up and maintenance from the shop.

yeah. if you dont want to do your own assembly the elite at canal cruiser seems to be a good bet. esp if you are pretty close to the store.

that said, 170 dollar plus sales tax savings would likely pay for assembly with a chunk of change to spare.

That is a crazy low price, especially since it includes shipping and handling...like paying $360 + S&H! That's a crazy low price! Got me Jonesin' now!

Bikes: Giant Defy 2

That is a pretty good deal. The bike also comes with Conti Ultra tires and is geared to pull like a tractor if you live in the hills.

Look at the giantnerd.com link a few posts back. They seem to have S at $429. That's probably still not a bad deal.

I am late to the thread but, proceed with caution:
Rental shop trying to sell new bikes?
No bike descriptions?
Are the bikes they are selling really new?
Their web page to Schwinn bicycles says "coming soon"
