Commuter from Sweden

Hi all. I have been reading here for a while and today it was time to register :-)

I've been commuting to work for the last 6 or 7 years all year round. I've had ha couple of close calls with pedestrians and cars during these years so I finally bought an AirZound so I can make my self heard.

The cab runs a red light, turns right from a lane where he is only allowed to continue straight ahead and in Sweden cars have to stop for pedestrians/bicycles when turning in an intersection.

This is my first video but I guess there will be more.

Bikes: 2012 Motobecane Fantom CXX, 2012 Motobecane Fantom CX, 1997 Bianchi Nyala, 200? Burley Rock 'n Roll

That came in handy. Welcome to the forum! It's always interesting to hear non-American perspectives.

I wish I had an airzound - instead, I'm usually the one who ends up stopping!

Do you ride with a light in the daytime? Might be time to start if not.

Are cyclists required to use bike paths instead of the road in Sweden? (I've been here for four months and still have no clue!)

Basically you must use the bike path if there is one, I know that there are people that have been fined for not doing so ( think it's 500 sek ) The only problem is that during summer when a lot of people are bicycling and you are much faster then it's just stupid to use the bike path. But if you meet the wrong policeman then you could get fined.

What are you doing in Sweden?

Wow that's annoying, especially since within the city itself I can keep up with cars anyways! It still hasn't gotten warm yet and already I see Götgatan and other cycle routes have gotten pretty crowded.

Jag är en utbytestudent här.

Yes it's starting to get really crowded now. I work in Liljeholmen and live close to the gas station one of your movies so I travel the shortest way to work, about 6km but from work I have a couple of different routes outside the city between 25km and 60km and those routes are not so crowded
