I did it!

As April ends, I finally made it an entire month without commuting to work by car. Since May is Bike to Work Month, I should make it two in a row. Making maximum use of the my monthly rail pass is nice on the $$ too.

That's great. Congrats! Good for you. My goal for May is to commute everyday, but we'll see how it goes

Clap clap clap clap! That's awesome! I try hard, but I just can't seem to ride every day. Something comes up, I have an early meeting, I'm oncall or I'm running late and wham there I am in the car. I'm hoping with the rain behind us, my commute day percentage will increase.

thats awesome. I just did, last week, my first 5 days of commuting to work in a row for the entire work week. I should try doing it for the whole month like you did. A new challenge..... ahhhhhhhhhh! But I travel a lot for work so I am not sure that will be able to happen

Yeah, good for you! Do you have some sort of combined bike/rail commute?

March was my first all-bike-commute month and I almost did it again in April, but wussed out on a couple of wet days right at the end of the month. But May is off to a good start.

Congratulations to the OP.

Warning first you go one month, then another, then another, the next thing you know, you are a year round commuter.

This is usually my biggest excuse. This morning was a real heavy "Marine Layer" (aka light misting rain). But is was "damn the torpedoes-full speed ahead". Rainy season is pretty much over, but expect more of this seasonal "Wet Morning Fog" in the coming months. Tomorrow I'm bringing dry socks.

I commute by rail-65 miles door to cube. I admit that I drive the eight, mildly hilly, miles to the train station at "0-dark thirty". As the weather warms up I hope to start riding to the station as well. The difference is getting up at 4:00 AM as opposed to 4:20.

Nice job...I think I am going to use this as a motivation to do the same in May. I will return and report

UGH! I have not gotten up that early since the military. What time do you go to bed?

At this point I feel guilty if I use my car to get to work. I usually brave any weather now since I am in such a better mood at work when I ride.

Day one down. Wet in the morning, dry in the afternoon. More of the same expected tomorrow. This time I'm packing dry socks.
