Find me a stem! Bar meant for quill stems on 1 1/8" threadless.

Hello all,

I have the lovely Nitto Dove bar, which has a 25.4mm clamp area. I'm trying to find a stem that would work on my 1 1/8" threadless which has a 25.4mm clamp area, but that's as narrow as a quill stem's clamp.

The problem with a stem like this one is that the stem clamp is wider than the Dove's bulge area, so there would be some unsightly overlap on the sides.

Any thoughts here? Seems like it should be easier than it is, short of getting my fork threaded (not ideal).

Thanks!

That's nice, but as you can see, it's a wide clamp area, so it would probably overhang on the Dove's relatively short clamp area. Make sense?

My 2004 LeMond road bike came with a 3ttt stem, 25.8mm clamp area. I'm currently using it with Trekking bars on my MTB commuter, which are 25.4mm but it clamps fine and is not "bottomed out". It has a 2-bolt clamp and is narrow enough to put a Minoura handlebar bottle cage mount over.

Might be able to find something like that.

Thanks, helpful buddy!

Are you sure the problem is just aesthetics, when the stem's clamp isn't properly clamping on the handlebar, thus resulting in a less-than-perfect fit, and opening up the possibility of a handlebar slip?

And if the engineering worked out, what's wrong with caring about aesthetics?

The model of the 3ttt stem in the photo I posted is "THE" (weird name). There are some on eBay right now.
