2nd: I know they work fine, and doing the setup this way will allow for more tire options, however, it seems odd to use the long reach calipers, that are extended to the maximum.

Thank you! Admittedly, I had to Google "long reach calipers". I'm not sure why they decided to use them but I'm planning on keeping my bike mostly stock until I know much more about bikes and parts.

Thank you for posting all the pictures and details. It is not easy finding creme bicycles info around there.

I am thinking of purchasing a creme cafericer bicycle also. I am not sure about the size. I am 1.63 m I have short torso and longer legs. Sometimes even when I am small in general small bicycles feel too small.

Could you tell me please which is your size in proportion to the size of your bicycle?

I am about the same height as you, with a short torso and longer legs and I purchased the 49cm size bike and it's perfect. you can adjust the height of the seat to make it perfect for you.

Yes, a bike like this adds to any woman's hawtness, no doubt about it. This is the same thing as a pushup bra and another button undone to us cycling enthusiasts. Now if I can talk the wife into dressing up in a 1950's skirt/blouse and 50's appropriate hair do and makeup and it would be awesome.

Hello! This is rather embarrassing as I'm 'Returning to Cycling'; it's my first ever post in a cycling-enthusiasts forum so I might be a little naive. However, I've been doing a lot more cycling recently along the promenade, to the shops and little trips here and there. I was looking at getting a new bike and this one caught my eye.

I know aesthetics aren't the be-all and end-all, but I wanted to find some scrutinising online of the handling, durability and general ride performance of the Creme ladies Cafe Racer as I'd potentially buy one during the next window of my work Cycle2Work scheme.

It's definitely attractive. I also want a mixte as I've already got a 3-spd hybrid that is fine for all other short trips around the city (not 'The' City) I live in (UK) and happy to opt for a sportier semi-upright.

Does it ride as well as it looks beautiful OP?

Ah, I just realised you mentioned handling in your original post Mixtemiss, but I wanted to understand how your bike has fared since your purchase back then and if the novelty of it is still there, or if there were any issues that have cropped up since :)

Do you still love the Caferacer, Mixtemiss? I am thinking of buying one. I have the Creme Holymoly wich I love, but some parts did rust after a year in use (I guess the weather here in Norway is tough on the bikes).

Totally, almost surprisingly, retro, but very elegant, and I'm sure a joy to ride.

My sister wants to buy one in 45 cm (S) size in Switzerland. I'm pretty sure the effective top tube will be somewhere around 52 cm because that's the only way to avoid toe overlap with large 700C fenders...

I'm curious about it's front end geometry, have you tried riding with a 10-20 pounds front load?

Cafe Racers were what they called Motorcycles that were rode , timed Race,

between Cafes, on those British Back roads.

i think slender mixte frames are so much more attractive than the heavier cruiser/oma style. the only weird thing about this bike is that it's called the "creme cafe" but is a nice attractive light blue.

Thank you for your thread, as i am considering buying one of these bikes. My only problem is that only the 48.5 is available (must be the medium model and the same as your 49.) right now and i am 5' 8" versus your heigh of about 5' 3" if I caluculated correctly. I guess I better re-think my decision. I'd love to hear from you and whether or not at your height you had toe overlap (if that is the correct term?) and if at your height you have the seat as low as it will go, or more mid range or up high. Hope you see this and reply ! Need to make my decision soon as they are holding the bike for me.

That size is going to be too small for you. You can make it work but in the end, you need a larger size.

Bianchi Siena Dama are on my short list. I’m wondering about the nexus hub gearing and wondered if it will be enough to get me up hills.
