Anyone familiar with "Bike and Park" bike centers?

There are three in the country that I can determine from their website. I'm going to be in Cincinnati for a week starting June 2 and was interested in taking advantage of the newly established bike center to go for late afternoon rides. I haven't gotten an answer to my question about policies for out-of-town visitors, etc. I'd like to sign up for the bike share.

Anyone with experience using any of these centers know how it works?

Elsewhere, Japan and NL it's at the train station.

Eugene had a Valet Bike parking coral for Events , racks and fences hauled in for the day or days.

"Bike and Park" appears to be a registered trademark, or something similar, for an operation that has three locations: Santa Monica, CA, Chicago, IL and now, newly opened, Cincinnati, OH.

I'm just curious about what they expect you to supply if you are part of their bike share. Your own helmet, lock, etc.?

Can't answer for Cincinnati, but the Santa Monica location has bike rentals, and it's not a city-wide bike share. They provide a helmet and lock.

Thanks. They got back to me from Cincy. I think I'm all set now. I'll post a reaction when I get back in case anyone is interested.

The experience was very positive. The crew that works there is very friendly and helpful. I recommend checking them out next time you are in Cincy. The bike share was very convenient and even though I only used six days of the whole year it is good for, it was still worth the $45 to get to see the city from many angles. The bike of choice is a Trek 7300 hybrid with SRAM grip shifters on a 24-speed drivetrain.

They are located in the corner of the parking garage that has the Moerlein Lagerhouse on its top. It's the first block to the west from the river side of the ballpark.

i know dublin has one of those put-a-coin-bike-to-next-stop-get-coin-back type of bike services. sadly, I discovered it just as I was about to leave the continent!

Awesome to hear. so it sounds like there's an annual membership fee of $45? were there daily use fees? Also, are there other locations throughout the city you can ride to and drop the bike at like a more traditional bike share or was it just from that location?

Could you tell if regular commuters were using the place to lock their bikes up and freshen up before work? that was supposed to be one of the big draws of this place for local commuters. i rode by and it looked too small for either private bike storage or even a changing room.

I used it over the weekend, though not for a rental... I rode approx 15 miles to meet some friends at the Morlein lager house above the place. For about $2, I was able to park inside, take a shower, and change. Only bummer was they close at 10pm, and don't like overnight parking.

The room you see from the garage looks pretty small, but there's a sizable back room with parking and the locker rooms. It's a really nice setup, and I'd definitely do it again.

There's something similar in Long Beach (CA), but I don't remember the name. It's not the only one of its brand.
