the ice sheets have melted

it has taken longer than expected as the use of salt and ash are banned because it's bad for the environment. sawdust, decomposed granite, fine gravel and sand are legally approved.

so, back on the bike tomorrow morning as the street sweepers are already running on the bike lanes!

You would need to be careful tho, sometimes its safer to leave snow as it is rather that shovel it and leave icy paths instead for people to slip on.

Here, the light snow gets compressed and turns to sheet ice. at least currently, that was the problem (and a little freezing rain.)

Now it's green again but raining.

Cool! Regulations there are a lot like Canada! Here if your walk isn't shovelled - the post office isn't obliged to deliver mail!

Here the snow removal is pretty good, there is specialized equipment for sidewalk cleaning - and in some areas even the bike paths get plowed!

But glad to hear things are warming up over there - the temperatures here for the past couple weeks had me convinced we were headed for another ice age!
