Today...
I rode (part of the way) a bike to work for the first time in a long time. I honestly forgot how great it felt.

7 miles, sunny and about 35F took about 40 minutes. Of course I had to drive 30 miles first. It's very different commuting on small town and rural roads, compared to Atlanta traffic it's a dream.

The commuting bug finally kicked me into gear last week. Put in a few miles last weekend and started commuting again last week. I'll see how long I can keep it going.

It took you 40 minutes to pedal 7 miles? What were you pedaling, a monolith?
Bikebuddha, my facetious “slow-poke” humor aside, it’s great to hear that you enjoyed your commute and I hope you continue doing so.
It’s hard for me to believe that it’s been nearly 2 years that I’ve been commuting everywhere via bicycle and even riding hilly centuries. I enjoy it more as time goes by, which seems impossible, as I enjoyed it from the moment I commenced bicycling in April of 2011 at age 55.

I'm famously slow and the fact that it was cold and I was riding the folder helped make me even slower. The way back was a more respectable 30 minutes.

Unfortunately I can't use that excuse. While NW Georgia is covered in rolling hills my new commute route is designed to be on old roads that follow the RR bed so it's pretty darn flat. But I could really get used to this kind of low traffic commute. It's a dream compared to riding in the city.

It took me 34 minutes to go 5.5 miles Sunday, and that included stopping to roll my pantleg up, stopping for traffic, stopping to check out my new lights, stopping and walking over multiple ice patches and slowing down to try and keep the front brake from rubbing. You would have looked like a comet passing me.
