Banana transport

I don't think I have to explain why I'm looking for a more secure way to transport a banana in a backpack.

Please no links to banana guard infomercials.

There must be a better way

acidfast7 03-13-13 01:34 PM

everyone had a bananaguard from Deisgntorget in Stockholm.

dynaryder 03-13-13 04:22 PM

On the United Fruit Fleet they purge the Oxygen out of the ship's hold to stop Oxidation
and kill bugs, replacing O2, with Nitrogen, N2.

And are shipped pretty Green .. You can buy them green and ripen them at work..

RubeRad 03-13-13 04:58 PM

You definitely need a banana hammock...

Why yes, that IS a banana in my pocket.

(Jersey or jacket pocket.)

Reminds me of a joke about a guy who was advised to impress the ladies by stuffing a potato in his speedo. The punchline is "I meant in the FRONT"

fietsbob 03-13-13 05:25 PM

Budgie Smugglers, [as I heard the Aussies, ( reportedly), calling Speedos]

wobbooze 03-13-13 05:43 PM

This is a serious issue.

I don't appreciate the lighthearted jokes.

ill get the clear one so people can see that there is clearly a banana inside and I don't actually carry a ***** with me

no1mad 03-13-13 06:24 PM

As this was asked here in Commuting, I'm going out on a limb and assume that you are trying to figure out a way to transport a banana from home or store to work or school. A practical solution would be to make friends with someone who drives a car and who can bring in a bunch of them as needed (paying them back of course). One less thing taking up space in your <insert bag of choice here>.

Stop eating bananas. They are nearly 100% sugar. Only slightly better for you than a candy bar but more easily bruised.

Problem solved. Next.....

krobinson103 03-13-13 06:52 PM

^^^ Thats a lot of bananas on those bikes. :) To answer the question though, have you tried using a plastic kitchen container (with the click on lids). There should be a good banana sized one at your local discount store for a couple of bucks.

MEversbergII 03-13-13 06:57 PM

Buy them slightly unripe; they're very much tougher then.

For me, I can take them in a back pack no problem, so long as they sit on top.

I disagree with you. Bananas are a good source of potassium. In a hot, dry day they help avoid cramping. There are ways to keep down the amount of sugar in a banana.

dudes trying to spread anti banana propaganda

Are you serious?

sbslider 03-14-13 06:40 AM

I have never had much trouble with this, either in a backpack or in panniers. Think about the physics of the situation and apply yourself, or provide mores specifics about this serious problem.
