Doesn't apply to me but it does look like a good move.

Here in south Florida they allow bikes on the Tri-Rail (West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami) at all hours. For the past three years I have seen an increase in riders with bikes. More than triple from three years ago. Good move by BART in SF! Double O

We still have the rush hour ban on non-folding bikes in DC,but we have different trains than they do. They did eliminate the rule that folders had to be bagged.

My biggest gripe is that they only let bikes in the end doors(middle doors are used in emergency evacuation),but still allow strollers, wheelchairs, and luggage in the middle doors.

Reading the article, you get the feeling all those who had to drive because BART didn't allow full size bikes never heard of folding bikes. BART always allowed folding bikes on board even during rush hour. Reading the rules of Bay Area Transit, even FULL size folding bikes were allowed! It's possible one may need a slip cover or bag but there was never any mention that one would could not bring a Mongtague full size folding bike during rush hour.

I'm glad they are now allowing full size bikes on board during rush hour.
