37mm fenders over 700x28 tires?

37mm fenders over 700x28 tires?
I know the standard convention is to use fenders that are at least 10mm wider than your tires, but my tires are 700x 28. The bike won't be used offroad and/or in mud... it's just to keep the road spray off of me in our lovely Florida downpours.

They will be fine. I'm using 45s over a 40. You just have to make sure they are hi enough to give the needed clearance. And, I like the sleeker look of skinnier fenders.

Yes. I do it, Planet bike 35mm fenders over 28mm tires. The clearance is sufficient, and they work perfectly.

If you buy something new you should get what's the most appropriate but if you already have the fenders it should work fine

35mm fenders on 35mm tires work fine. Also run 60mm fenders on 60mm tires without issues. The spray and dirt comes off the center of the tire. Mudflap is the best protection.

There's plenty of clearance to move the fenders higher, so that's no issue. (It's an older road frame that I converted from 27" wheels to 700c, so that gave an extra 4mm.) Just like Wanderer, I prefer the sleeker look of the skinny fenders.
