Fenders and Rack
Hey,
I have been on the hunt to find a decent commuter bike, but figure i am going to turn my Trek DS 8.2 into my commuter/family fun day bike. I am wanting to get a fender/rack system going to haul my commuting needs, and kid stuff when we go to the park. I have the stock 700x38c tires on the bike. I have been looking at the Topeak Beam set up with the DeFender mounted underneath with the Topeak Trunk Bag, or the EX Trunk Bag, but I do not know if there is a better solution or not.
I planned on just getting an topeak saddle bag because I honestly don't need much space for my commute, but I figure why limit what I can take with me to just a small bag. I will just throw one of those on my MTB or Road Bike. I figure for a park trip I can throw some lunch in there, or some kids toys as well.....that wouldn't fit in a saddle bag.
Curious as to your system and what you like.

Old Man Mountain rack, because the bike doesn't have the right braze ons for a regular one. Single Arkel commuter pannier, with a top pocket for pass to the bike room and side pockets for keys and shoulder strap. Irritating fenders that occasionally rub against the 28mm wheels.
