Carradice Camper or Nelson saddle bag in the rain?

I am thinking of getting a Carradice Camper or Nelson saddle bag. I was wondering how waterproof these bags are?? I commute in Japan's rainy season and it can down pour for a week straight. Do they keep your stuff dry? Do they dry fast? Do they get moldy and start to smell?

I am also willing to look at other brands besides Carradice

I am currently using Ortlieb PVC Rollar Ups which I find are great. I might change my commute to a bike that doesn't have a rack.. so I am thinking of a nice saddle bag.

Thanks in advance
