need a new tail light or blinkie

just snapped off the clip on my second nite rider cherry bomb. clip still stuck to the bike but light part is in the road somewhere. i am in the market for a new tail light now. i am looking at the usb rechargeable rear lights. budget is about 50 retail. i am considering this nite rider solas but concerned with the clip even though they did redesign it. https://www.niterider.com/solas-2-wat...-light-2013-2/ a few coworkers have had the solas since it came out and they do not have problems with them.

I secure my tail lights with rubber bands cut from old tubes.

OK, but "clip still stuck to the bike but light part is in the road somewhere"

I use the rubber bands to hold the Light Part to the clip.

You really need to look at the Serfas Thunderbolt. I have one and it attaches on by rubber to the mount. Very, very bright and holds a charge well.

If you have space on your seatpost, the Knog Road 2 taillight is killer. It uses silicone strap mounting to snug it to the post, where it's sleek and discreet, but it pumps out some killer light, easily on par with the Solas (which I also have). The flash modes are very good-- not the frenectic, tecno seizure stuff-- and USB rechargeable.

If you're sick of the generic, chintzy, crappy, ugly, articulated mounts most lights use, and if you understand style and function can coexist, check this Knog out.

I like the way they mount.

I friend bought 4 of them.

They are decorator lights. Not Bright for safety use.

If whatever you have are 'decorator' lights then they aren't the Thunderbolts. Thunderbolts have been proven to be able to be seen up to a mile away. I've picked out that tailight when it's mounted on my sons bike, out of a pack of bikes from several blocks away by the brightness.
