But, they Likely ordered inverntory through QBP , They, in MN are the distributor, Competitive Cyclist In CO is the Retail Dealer.. could have bought in PDX just as well , through any shop with a QBP account. I know for a fact that if I'd gone into my LBS and asked for this frame they wouldn't have sold it to me for anywhere near what I paid. |
Suppose there are non exclusive distribution deals .. and they change ..
over time Colnago went through a number of different US distributors. |
Thanks everybody for your comments! The front fender holder is actually bent, i'll see what I can do when i get home. The kickstand is combined with kids trailer hitch, and due to the funny shape of the dropouts i can't use other, more neat systems.
Well. Let me have another try -- here is my wifes commutouring, a perfect commuter I had in mind after building one for myself (the black one above). I like straight forks! (this one came together with the frame) :) Not sure how did yellow reflectors get there, long time they are gone since the photo was taken. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7270/7...8de63a19_c.jpg |
Does acidfast know that you have all of these bikes with drop bars in Germany? |
Overhauled my right ergo and swapped out the red tape for some black on my commuter/cross last night. Other than the blue rims and the saddle, it's completely monochrome. Campy veloce on a bikeisland frameset rolling on 38mm continentals via ambrosia hoops. It's a double, but mity capable.
There have been many iterations of this bike, but I think this is going to be 'finished' for a while. Before: http://i.imgur.com/LNZA4bFl.jpg After: http://i.imgur.com/zJldYjql.jpg |

Don't know what to tell you about the rack hardware, it was in the partsbin and I went for it. The rack matches the gold spacers in the campy cassette. http://i.imgur.com/esmE8.gif |

Is that a Wald Giant Delivery Basket? I've been thinking about getting one of those - are the holes already drilled up the supports so you can adjust the height of the bottom of the basket? I have one of the smaller Wald baskets and it's all tilted (see my post here) because the supports are so long.
For a different bike, I was able to buy a kit that had just the struts, handlebar brackets, and hardware for the Giant Basket. I fit it to a smaller basket that had fixed-length legs that did not fit the bike well. It took a bit of DIY modification, but it worked. Just an idea if you like your current basket aside from how it fits your bike. |

Must be nary a drop that reaches that BB in the rain. :D |

Yes, that is the Wald "Giant Basket", and yes the struts are pre-drilled and you bolt the uppers and lowers together to get the height you need.

Hmmm, I looked again at some of the Giant baskets, looks like the way they're made now they have fixed-length struts, but you can get a separate kit with the adjustable ones. Also, it looks like you can adjust the height at the handlebars as well? I really want the giant basket, but I've been holding off because sometimes I take my bicycle on the bus and I don't know if it will fit on the racks on the front of the bus. |

OK, here's mine. I thought I'd wait until I get a taller stem to level out the basket, but then I realized I'm so lazy it'll probably be 2015 before I get around to doing that.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps8c07f545.jpg Use a hacksaw to shorten them to desired length. Smooth out the cuts with a file. Hammer down the curved part of the stays at ends where the new cut is so it is flattened. Drill new, appropriate sized holes with a power drill. Also, the angle of the basket can be adjusted somewhat with the handlebar brackets. They don't necessarily have to be angled straight down as you appear to have them. If you raise them up so they are pointing in a more forward direction, it will raise the back end of the basket. |

Nice bike and good candidate for drop bar conversion. Yours is an example of a conversion that didn't turn out looking weird as so many of them do. Doesn't quite rise to the level of hot for me though. With the potpourri of colors you've got going on there a green wheel couldn't hurt. Not sure I like the blacked out tubes and the Sora-esque shifters. Also not quite sure how brifters really work on bars like that but I've got no actual experience with that sort of set up. |
A slight change of pace. You've already seen this bike. Many of you have caved in and rated it "Hot" in the hope you'd never see again. No such luck!
But this isn't really about the bike. It's about the bike racks. I just saw these last weekend while sailing with my club. I'm too cheap to own my own boat so a I belong to a club and sail theirs. Anyway, the racks must be new because I'm there every week or two and never noticed them. I didn't have my camera with me then, so I decided to take a detour this morning, get a picture, and go for a dip before work to cool off. There are other racks around town in the shape of bikes and whatnot but I really like these. So what do you think? Hot or not? Do any of you have some artistic racks in your area? Please share ! http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...ps7344e4e9.jpg http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...pse3b37e89.jpg If I would have been thinking I would have taken a picture of the building they are around (the sailing shed) which might have made them look better but I wanted to get the boats in the background. The building is below on the far right in this pic I grabbed from google. I've always liked these buildings anyway but I preferred them when they were painted a pale blue. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4X_iD2aoO3...-refectory.jpg |

Here's my 2012 Carve Expert. I stopped riding my road bike to work so that I could get more miles in the saddle on this bike in preparation for bikepacking trips. Bottles are on the fork, since they will need to be there when the full frame bag is on for bikepacking and I want to get used to reaching for them there. Tires are WTB Nanos so I can take the dirt roads on the Trinity River levees back on days that I have more time.
