I see you have some experience with this thread in the road forum.
For others who haven't, the idea is that people post pictures of their bikes and other critique it. Not only the bike but the picture itself and maybe even the rider. ;) So far I've been the only one who has posted a picture of a bike. Acidfast7 posted a picture of his toes and while that's not what I had in mind exactly, I think it does fit into the spirit of the thread just fine. I guess I enjoy the back and forth of the "Hot or Not" thread in the road forum more than what you typically see in the Commuter Bicycle Pics thread in this one. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=333286 I think we can skew this towards the Fredly! |
has potential but you need matching spoke cards, more reflectors, the stem is way too low, and the drops need to be angled up 10 degrees.

I have a serious entry...hold on...

Points subtracted for skinny saddle and absence of kickstand+fenders. This bike would look nice with the new vegan brooks saddle, imo. You also need a paint job and some decals to cover up that hideous bianchi thing. What do rainbow stripes have to do cycling???!1!!! |

also: The last piece of furniture just arrived for our new flat.
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=333342 will update once it's been configured :D edit: updated with the "hammock" ready for usage :D a little bit tight fit, but with enough space for a drinking table and close enough to listen to the live music drift in from the square. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=333344 closer-up http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=333345 metal frame inside of the canvas with very durable metal hardware ... we should get a ton of use out of this :D http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=333346 edit 2: fits better with table angled. having the table edges parallel with the wall is kinda boring anyway. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=333348 |

Hot...except for the seatpost rack. Those things are evil wrapped in calamity.
The seatpost rack is ok for the mountain bike but doesn't look right on a more "classci/traditional" kind of bike. Let's see more pictures  |

I'm struggling with this one. Old GT frames are hot but the long neck leaves me empty. While I applaud your ingenuity of carrying an entire spare wheel it's a little too utilitarian and throws the frame balance off.
Tidy it up a bit, get a proper side shot and you may be on to something. The wheel isn't really a spare! I was on my way home from picking it up from a Craigslist seller. |

Dump the seatpost rack, then it could be hot.

Hot Bike... except for the water bottle. Non-cycling specific means it doesn't sit properly in the cage. It's obviously not running parallel to the down tube which throws off the symmetry of the whole thing. Kudos for choosing something BPA free though. :) In general I think San Jos8s are awesome commuters. |
the bianchi is a good looking bike, but i'll agree the seatpost rack is cringe-worthy
|
I'll be putting the regular rack back on.
This thread isn't going to be much fun if there's only a handful of us offering up pictures. :notamused: |

This thread isn't going to be much fun if there's only a handful of us offering up pictures. :notamused: That's OK. I can take it. Here are two bikes I've used in the winter: http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...l/87afb4a4.jpg http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...psc650b305.jpg And just in case anybody thought the bike in the original post was just a sick joke, I do have a certain... history. Here's something I had put together a few years ago. The aero bars, low spoke count wheels and adjustable kickstand from Target are not something you often see together on one bike, - especially one used for commuting: http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...f/IMG_4386.jpg I did regain some sense eventually: http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...x/CIMG0527.jpg Sadly the Peugeot and the Bianchi are no longer with me and I sold those Rolfs way too cheap. All kidding aside, one thing I liked about the Peugeot was the lugs. They're internal. Maybe it's just the era I grew up in but even the most fancy chrome lugs to me are just lipstick on a pig. And even the best TIG welds are not exactly attractive. Nothing is cleaner looking that a nice internally lugged frame except for possibly CF. |

Someone stole your pedals, but I'm going to go ahead and say "HOT". Mostly because I'm afraid your bike would hurt me if I didn't. |
