To get the maximum benifit you need to shave. . . everything.

For some a "rack reduction" may be in the cards.

^^This. And since I will never be really fast, I use total miles ridden for my bragging rights. I have noticed that I tend to go faster when I have my speed display turned off. I gave a Garmin 500, and have several pages that only displaty three fields. More than that my old eyes can't focus on. The largest is HR on every one of the screens(Dr's orders), the only one I really try to ride to. The screen I use most is HR/Time of Day/Temp.

That's what I was thinking. But you mean computers. I have been running naked for quite some times and I sometimes miss the total miles and the watch. Now I consider it extra weight. It is liberating, no miles/hr, no cadence, no heart rate, no avg miles/hr, nothing! I had all this, and if there would have been a GPS, I think I would of had it also.

Now I ride by feel and like I said, its liberating. Out of air, slow down; to hard a pedal push, go down on gear; to easy of a pedal, go up in gear; late for the train, pickup the pace. They where all good training tools, but unless you race, I see no point. Double O
