Commuter tires for unexpected snow (700 x 23)
What do those of you who commute in all weather ride on your road bikes? My Ibis Spanky does not have room for anything wider than 23 or some 25 width tires but I might opt for something besides the slicks I ride normally. Up here at 7000ft. altitude weather can change rapidly. What do you use?

I rode tubulars for years in all seasons. The 25mm width cut through snow and slush, and even packed snow down to pavement and I never had traction issues except on ice. All you need is some kind of fine or file tread. However my current commuter has 2" tires and they float up on anything except loose snow, so someplace in there, the need for real tread happens.
