Unbelievably nice. 35°F, clear, with a very light (2mph) tailwind.
I think that's the first tailwind I've had going in to work, riding almost everyday since spring 2012.
Very few cars, no altercations, absolutely nothing slowing me down.

29° and calm, can't complain. The ride home should be interesting, we are supposed to get a snow/ice/rain mixture starting at 2 or 3 and continuing through the night.

Roads are a solid mass of packed down snow and ice after yesterdays 12-15" of snow. Looks like I won't be riding in for a while.

I decided after this morning that ice really isn't any fun. I took the road bike because I figured it would be mostly clear, and it was, but man those other parts that weren't clear were tricky. Frozen ruts, lumpy ice, invisible slicks, no thanks.

Somehow managed to negotiate a sheet of ice on Taxiway Alpha on racing slicks.

I was enjoying a balmy 16F, the beautiful sunrise, the snow piled to the sides of the trail, etc - and then nearly got slammed at a 4 way stop intersection. Reminder that vigilance isn't optional. Snowing like a banshie now - could be interesting ride home!

50-ish F and 100%RH. Feels cool at the start, but you can easily be a dripping mess after a few miles, so took it very slowly.

Rode home through a downpour today. Several thoughts:
1. Ortlieb panniers are awesome!
2. I love love love fenders.
3. What a delight to be able to smell the fresh mulch around trees in the park.
4. I will be really glad when my new bike with roller brakes arrives.

Had to swing by the DMV in Santa Ana today. I don't know which is worse. Two hours in line, or riding the streets of Santa Ana.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a high of 64 and sunny! Sure hope I'm feeling better then because I don't want to miss that opportunity.

Back in the saddle today after missing all of last week due to work commitments and a snowstorm. Although it warmed up over the weekend and melted much of the snow, there were enough drifts from snowplows left on the sides of the roads to cause risky conditions this morning. Many patches of black ice from snowmelt that froze overnight, so I had to be extra cautious on my ride to work with temps in the upper 20s F. That plus tired legs from riding 95 miles over the weekend made for a slow commute, but it still beats driving.

first ride in over a month. I am feeling sore muscles from vegging out during the snowstorm last week. 30 degrees and i felt good. Decent time considered i had to hike my bike on the greenway since it frozen solid in many spots.
Overall though felt really good to be on the bike!

Wet and Windy. 6 inch puddles. Afraid I was going to get blown off the bridge. Good grief.

First commute after missing 21 commuting days in a row. Low 30s in the morning. 47F this afternoon. Felt good to be back on the bike. First commute on the new bike. Last week was a killer, not being able to ride.

Rewind to last Friday...I had an incredibly icy ride in followed by a beautiful ride home.
This morning at just freezing with a light layer of fluffy snow, I believe that was it for winter. The forecasts show a big warmup in the coming days.

2" on the road this morning. Good news! Tomorrow is supposed to go up into the 40s. Looks like I'll be riding in for the first time since the third week of January.

Weird conditions made for interesting (in a good way) ride this morning. Yesterday late afternoon it started raining (haven't seen that in a long time!), that became freezing rain, then sleet, then heavy, wet snow. Morning's temp was 28F with that wet snow over ice. Traction was not a problem (studdly studded tires) and it was like being on an ice breaker in the arctic ocean crunching through the top layer of ice. It was slow going but pretty cool. Supposed to get to the 40's this afternoon - I'm so excited!

OMG freaking amazing weather today!
This morning was nice, between 10 and 20 degrees warmer than my morning commute last Thursday. According to my bike computer the temp fluctuated as much as 10 degrees. It started out around 41, but every now and then along the 15 miles I would hit these colder "pockets" of air where it got as low as 31. Felt weird. Low-lying areas I guess.
First commute on the new wheelset. Not really sure if it improved my speed much, but I was about 1 MPH faster than Thursday morning's commute. Could be the temperature, the fact that I had on 1 less layer top and bottom, the wheels, who knows. I think I was riding into a very light wind, but I definitely had no help from it.
Can't wait for the ride home!

Took the Paramount with freshly Pastor-Bob-repacked freewheel. Realized about halfway to work at the bottom of the hill that I'd forgotten my entire backpack somehow, including lunch, wallet, and phone. Fortunately I had my badge in my pocket and carried on. Bummed lunch.
