Thanks Tom - I'm optimistic, and I'm glad to be out. CDI was truly a ****e, poorly run, Mickey Mouse operation. I liked my day to day job and department, but the company is terrible.

Bikes: Cannondale Synapse '06, Mongoose titanium road bike '00--my commuter. Yes, Mongoose once made a decent ti road bike.

I am a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician for a large healthcare corporation in California. I am also the lead technician for one of their Southern California facilities. Better than that, I will be retiring this May. More time for riding. Can't wait.

Bikes: Many

I run the IT department for an engineering firm, as well as serving as our network engineer whenever we have a project come up that requires one be designed.

I'm the only bike commuter here, but there are a couple of other cyclists, one a mountain bike guy and the other a cyclocross enthusiast.

Do tell. I've by and large not paid them any mind. Though, didn't they once set off an explosion on a French oil tanker?

Administrator for a tool & die shop. We support molding of auto parts manufacturer and build equipment. Our company has over 1,000 employees and I'm the only bike commuter 99% of the time. I ride a motorcycle on days that I don't feel like pedaling. We only own one car and my wife drives it most of the time. I also carpool sometimes, but prefer the bicycle. The best days are by bike!

Pretty funny w/ a user name of giant doofus. I suppose intelligence doesn't always need to be measured by scholastic achievement.

I ride a Giant Cypress, which I have named Doofus. But, honestly, academics aren't exactly known for our common sense and social skills

Computer Science BS I have not written code in anger for a decade. I'm a troubleshooter/problem solver on any problem or need remotely related to electronics. Coworkers from developing countries - where increased wealth leads to more prestigious transportation - are befuddled by my bicycle riding.

I'm an environmental engineer working for a state agency. As a bike commuter, I thank my lucky stars that we have a small pool of vehicles, and I can sign one out if I need to conduct field work or go to offsite meetings. (Although occasionally all of them are taken). Otherwise, I would need to drive my own car at least one, and sometimes two, days per week.

Given the environmental focus of my work, you would think there would be a few other regular bike commuters in my workplace. Not really the case (there are 2 or 3 people who will ride in once in a while, but only in nice weather).

That's a long commute. Not too far from where I live.

Strategic communications in the home office of a life insurance company, doing executive communications, inter-company communications, etc. Prior to that, senior securities analyst for a private investment fund. (Though I actually majored in international relations and economics.) In my spare time, I'm also president of our city council. I usually bike to work and to City Hall, and I'm usually the only bike commuter at either one.

I'm the audio-video engineer and facility coordinator at a landmark building downtown.
The vast majority of my events are corporate, however we do get thrown the occasional bone since this is "Music City".
