I'm pretty sure those bikes are on ceiling pulley-hangers. If so, there's a rope that is held fast with the same kind of device that keeps venetian blinds up until you tug the rope in a certain direction. I bought a pair of those off eBay for about $20 and have two bikes mounted in my garage that way. (Here's 4 for $35)
