Where do you Park it -- At Home?
 

We moved to a new home about 5 months ago. It is only 7 miles from my work, which is a great commuting distance. One of the positives is an enclosed front porch, surrounded with brickwork, that is perfect for bike parking. I just come out the door, unlock my bike, and ride off into the sunrise. It's very convenient. No more messing with the garage, garage door, etc etc -- It's also great for utilitarian riding, too. Need to go to a local store or restaurant? The bike is ready to rock right at the door. It cannot be seen from the street. Where do you park your rigs?

Mine is in the garage (next to my kids' bikes).

Side note: I want that crate- would work way better than the one I currently have :thumb:

I keep the winter bikes locked up to the front railing at my house so they get to stay cold and not thaw out and when I am coming and going this is my preferred lock up and a place for company to lock up.

Between the dog and the parrots nobody gets to come to the door without us knowing about it... the birds will start calling when they see people on the walk and call me when I get out of the car as they can see out the front window.

In the second bedroom, which is either the bike room or the cat room depending on your veiwpoint.

Some parrot calls can be heard a mile away... none of our birds rate as being the loudest but they can easily match and exceed the smoke detector for volume (90db).

They are rarely that loud although a number of the birds at the shop I volunteer at are capable of inflicting auditory pain and they don't have to be that big to make big noises.

I need one of these... :)

That looks like a great place to store a bike. Wish I had something that convenient. I also love the crate you are using. What kind is it?

I park mine in a detached garage. This is a real pain because I have to through a locked gate to the backyard, then unlock the garage to get to it. But, we live in a high crime city and don't have a good spot in the house for the bike. Oh well, you do what you have to. Next time we buy a home, though, I'm taking bike storage into account!

The crate is from Coca Cola, the size they use for a case of 1 liter size soft drinks. Having a crate like that is convenient as heck, it is so easy just to toss things into it and ride - like if I take a quick spin over to Walgreens or something. Yeah, it looks Fred, but I ain't Greg LeMond lol

I share a townhome with one roommate and we split a 1-car garage. I can fit 3 bikes (winter bike plus whichever is dirty and/or wet) in the garage alongside all my tools, parts, the roommate's car, and the roommate's bike. The majority of my collection is kept in my bedroom for lack of other options.

in the spare bedroom in the apartment. i put my cross-check in front of the giant.

I have a groove in the wood trim by my door which conveniently is the perfect size for the tire of my schwinn. My Jamis rests against the wall directly across from the front door. I've looked into getting a wall hook like tsl has but the wall studs all seem to be at very inconvenient locations. [MENTION=336334]the sci guy[/MENTION]How do you like your nashbar? They're kinda pricey right?
