Giant Escape RX

Are theses sold anywhere online besides Jenson/Chainreaction? There are none on Ebay, Craigslist or LBSs in the area. I'm only interested in the 2012/2013 models, not the current models. There are other options out there but I owned the RX 1 for a while and regret selling it because it fit me perfectly.

Buy from a shop? Giant only distributes through brick and mortar shops.

Another reason they're a nice company

Would a shop be able to order the older models?

Yes but only if Giant still has some old stock. Sometimes they do so it's worth a shot but it may or may not be possible.

I know Giant does discount their old stock to dealers at the end of the season and I know of a shop here in SoCal that sold mostly a year or two out of date Giant bikes at a huge discount from retail an still made a hefty profit on them.

Awesome. Hopefully they do. That shop wouldn't happen to sell & ship bikes over the web would they? Just in case the dealers around here can't get their hand on some.

Dealers can access Giant's inventory on their computers and know within just a minute or two what is available and what is not. Axiom, it wouldn't hurt to go visit and ask . . .

No, that shop didn't sell on the web and in fact it's out of business now. The previous owner did a thriving business selling new old stock (NOS) Giant bikes but the next owner went to full Specialized Concept Shop instead and then (2 or 3 years later) tragically died on a road bike ride in the Santa Monica mountains.
