Trek Soho S or District Single Speed?

I have been looking for a good deal on a decent single speed commuter for a while, and just found 2 options this week. Unfortunately, that means I need to make a decision. I plan to use it to commute 5 miles each way to and from work, and around town with my kids. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Both bikes are in great shape, and fit me well.

First is a Trek Soho S. It has drop bars installed. I like the flat black. I have a history of back problems, so I don't mind that it isn't super aggressive. $275

The second option is a Trek District. It is actually chain driven, which surprised me. I thought these were all belt driven. $200

I can't find much on the chain drive District, so I am having a tough time comparing components and reviews. If you have experience with either, or any advice, I would love to hear it. Thank you!

I have been looking for more information on the District, and I am still confused. It looks just like a District 5, but it has the Neptune Blue paint scheme. Everything I can find on the District 5 is Burnt Orange. I don't think it is a District that was modified to be chain driven, because the wheels and everything match the District 5.

The District turns out to be a 1'st District frame with 5'th district components. The guy I bought it from purchased it at a bike shop from a friend who worked there. Sounds like someone must have wanted a burnt orange 1st district, and this was what was left. It is in fantastic shape, and I really like the ride. I ended up getting that for $180, and am very happy with it. I am looking forward to getting some miles on it!

either will do, just change the bars and stem to make it fit your needs better.
