This is my 3rd year in the National Bike Challenge. The warm-up has begun and the fun officially starts May 1. Who's in for this free 5 month challenge?
I don't get out enough
I'm doing it for the second year. I'm hoping I encourage others I work with to start riding.

Last year I was 11th in Nevada. Hoping for a top 10 finish this year.

I've been riding everyday since January 1st and already log my mileage, so hey why not?

I'm in. Unfortunately with travel and some other commitments I will not get many days to ride in May. Will have to do extra rides the rest of the time to make up for it.
I wonder if I could get work to organize a team. Since we have a number of bike commuters it could be a fun idea.

I'm in! Several coworkers too...3rd year for most of us...I won a bike for most commuting miles in my local challenge last year so I need to defend my title! ;-)

6000+ riders so far - my goal is to help my town Appleton, WI take 1st in our size. Good luck to everyone!
I'm in. But it feels like I am the only one. It seems like there is less interest this year. My local page shows zero teams and zero workplaces. I remember several dozen last year.
Anyway, I headed out for work this morning before remembering that I did not check with my MIL/babysitter to see if it was ok to be late this afternoon, so I turned home. 1.1 awesome miles! It's enough to put me in the local lead...

21 points for the win! I think it may be that the website is no longer linked with Endomondo. All teams have to be newly formed, and for some time it didn't seem to work. I'm expecting more people and more teams as they get this sorted.Originally Posted by motoboy

I did this last year using the Endomondo App for tracking. It was a bit of a pain remembering to start that for every ride and make sure my phone battery was charged enough for the tracking.
This year - since I started my longer commute in mid February - I've been wearing my Garmin 405 Forerunner. It looks like I can use Endomondo to automatically pull in my rides from Garmin and use that for the challenge. As long as that works I'm in.
But like others noted, I don't see any sort of local leaderboards. I'm the only one at my workplace who rides, so no team here. I guess I'll just have to see how I do on the national level.
Mostly I just hope to win a year's supply of toilet paper. That seemed to be the best award last year.

It's because everything restarted today since it's the 1st "official" day, you should see more locals later on today.
