Brooks Flyer Saddle

Has any one tried the Brook's Flyer saddle on their bike and if so, how does it feel from say the B-17?

I have three. Its basically the B-17 with springs. And the springs create a plush ride on rough roads.

I have one, but can't tell much difference between the flyer and my B17 as far as how much more springy or cushioned it is vs the non-sprung saddle. I don't ride it too much, so maybe it's not as broken in as my other brooks seats. One thing to look out for is the bolts that hold the rail to the spring can come loose. I had one fall out and had to replace it with something similar from home depot.

My own experience is that the springs are so hard that they don't enter the decision. Now, if you had to go through a 3' static drop, they might well save a painful event. Also, the flyer (Mine is called the Champion Flyer) is much more difficult to attach a seat bag to.

Roads in my town are bad and when you hit a bump you didn't see in time, the springs work and save pain in the back. Apart from that - you don't feel they exist - which is good - don't like bouncy feeling of soft springs when pedaling.

I have the B-67 on my Breezer which is a wider version of the flyer. I like it for my commuter.

The springs look cool on a commuter; what's not to like?
