Are there any "hot rod" golf carts available on this small island?
They can be fun.

Further north in the gulf islands. I like the hot rod gulf cart idea.

Reminds me of a photo I took while bicycle touring an island a little south of the one he is going to:

Evidently the town of Langley on Whidbey Island allows golf carts on city roads. There was a "begin golf cart zone" sign at the entrance to the city, and we took this photo on the way out of town.

Bikes: 2 many 2 fit here

For the sake of maintaining cycling fitness I have "vacation bikes" stashed with family in two locations. Currently, I'm visiting my folks in Courtenay BC, and I've taken long rides every day I've been here, except a few days ago when it rained all day.

I am all most always wishing i was riding when i'm doing something else, but there are practical limits to everything...

I'm done for the year. My last two possible cycling days were spent on family business out of state. I will probably be cycling later this week but for now I've left the wife alone with the baby for four days on each of the last two weekends and I'm trying to take a load off her now to make up for it.

As to the question "How do I cope?" If I don't have my bike handy, I walk.
