Great extended commute today, other than the cop that buzzed me. Hey man, I realize there are two lanes and I'd really rather be in the right lane, but there are always cars parked over there on the right. So, can I please use this lane without sharing so closely?

kthanks.

Good of thing I've got a camera on the way. I'd be posting that wherever I could!

Finally back on the bike today, two days after getting back from America, so I had some major jet lag. With that jet lag, and the heat and humidity I felt terrible at the end of my morning commute. Hopefully I will feel better on the way back home... Better get some more water in me.

A nearly perfect morning today, with cool temperatures and a gentle foggy breeze coming off from one field along my ride, was interrupted by finding that I had left my food out of my backpack this morning. Ugh.

Anyway, this is two consecutive days of riding. I took the fixed gear today, because I didn't have to haul a bunch of stuff in. I am enjoying living so close to work.

We had some overnight rains and early morning drizzle. The roads were damp, but not really enough to even cause a spray. It drizzled just little on my ride in, but dried quickly due to my 15mph breeze.

Continued scattered showers and general overcast day will keep the high in the low 80s today.

Thanks for the info/advice @PatrickGSR94. Sounds like I probably need to get the A/C checked out.

They are calling for strong T-Storms today, so I chickened out and drove. Looking out my office window now... yep, it's raining hard.

Encountered a flock of geese on the Mt. Vernon Trail this morning - right at Gravelly Point, the place where cyclists, joggers, picnickers, love to gather to watch planes take off from DCA airport . The geese ignored me when I said "On your left!" They were also unresponsive to my bell.

Ok, kidding about yelling at them or ringing the bell.

Foggy, wet from storms last night, very humid - back from a week on the GAP/C&O trail. It was weird riding on pavement this morning. Having difficulty caring about work - fantasizing about next trip which I'd like to start tomorrow

nice weather this AM in the 70s. was expecting 90s off the bat so was happily surprised. i'm guessing this late afternoon/evening will be sadly hot though.

Foggy and humid. Half of my morning commute is in the dark now. I got spoiled the last couple of months of riding in with sunlight.

Good commute yesterday. Stiff headwind in some parts made it a better workout, I've had people trying to talk to me lately, in a good way. "Do you do this every day?" "How long is your commute?"

4 in the morning, 18 at night. Of course, I answer "16 miles".

Supposed to rain today, scattered thunderstorms. I think I'll still ride in. I've got a hell of a safety net if the weather really sucks (bus picks up right by the office).

Another pleasant ride today, but I was tired and a bit sore this morning starting out. I've made three days in a row, a first! Scattered storms this afternoon? I haven't hit rain yet. Today may be the day. Woo hoo.

This morning was... interesting.

My morning commute is 2 miles from home to the train station, and 2 miles from the train station to work. Of course, these two legs are the worst parts, though they shouldn't be.

Home side: go from mup to crosswalk, I'm always vigilant at one, the timing on the light and angles, plus total lack of driver awareness make it a dangerous one. Truck that was first at the light gunned it, I yelled, such is life. I thought the car behind him saw me, as he'd slowed... well, he hadn't. This is by far the closest I've came to getting hit. I need to start raising hell about that intersection - seems damn near every time I cross there's an issue. Enforcement is needed there...

And then on work side, there's apparently a man barricaded in a hotel after killing someone. Swat is out in full force, had to take a bit of a detour to get around the road block and possible flying bullets.

Scattered thunderstorms today, so ride home should be just as fun.

How am I supposed to follow an act like @txcrash? That's an intense morning.

I just simply had really high humidity this morning, 96% or so. Quite thick out there.

I am also in the midst of marathon training and the schedule for Wednesday mornings requires a bit of a longer run and thus a pretty early morning. Therefore, I rode much slower ride in than normal too.

72 and stiff headwind. I though I was racing thunderstorms (it looked threatening) but now it's clear and hasn't rained a drop. Is it darker in the morning or am I getting up earlier?!

First day on the new bike... Felt Speed Verza 20. So far so good. A little stiff at first, but softened up as the ride went along. 18 miles to work. First 17 miles on the bike Shaved off 15+ minutes on my time from MTB, but I didn't push it. I do not like the grips. The bar ends aren't independently adjustable like my Ergon GP2, so I will be swapping them out tonight.

My first day here this week as I have been on a car road trip from NH to MI by way of Harrisburg PA.

The commute in today was humid and the closer I got to the coast the more fog and dampness in the air. I was glad to be on the bike.

Brrrr to put it one word. Upper 50's so guess not too bad. Mid 70's on the way home sure would like the wind to die down some. Need to start looking into winter gear.. not sure if I'll get studded tires yet.

My wife had to meet a friend near my office yesterday at 5pm. We had received some rain and more was coming so I just caught a ride with her. I would've gotten pretty soaked if I had ridden.

Another super humid morning today. The high humidity makes for a very overcast sky also. This makes it seem dark out, especially while I'm still wearing regular dark sunglasses.

Evening commute on work side was cut short by 20-30 mph headwinds. Riding in traffic with headwinds like that is just no fun at all.

Home side I realized my sunglasses had fallen off (I'd hooked them on my shirt, a bad habit), so I doubled back. Never did find them.

Drove in today - had to drop the kid off at a friends house and tonight is meet the teacher.

Exactly - 59F this morning, 13 degree drop in one day. Is summer over and no one told me?

Riding the bike everyday, business as usual. Since my new commute is early and on a bike path there's much less to say about my everyday ride. I see the same 4 guys on their bike every morning and the same 2 women jogging 3-4 mornings/week. That's new for me as I was alone on my former rural roads commute. The rest is quite uneventful.

It's been quite hot for the last few days, around 31celcius ( 40 celcius with the humidity factor) and not much wind to cool it down.

ughhh man, so nice today yet I opted to sleep an hour later and drove in.

Had some heavy rains Tuesday and Wednesday, so I was glad I drove those days, although yesterday was only light rain going home so I probably could have ridden. Oh well, hopefully I can get in another commute tomorrow. That will be a bit odd for me, riding on Friday which almost never happens, like maybe twice in the past 2 years.

I came out of work to find a flat tire yesterday. Didn't find anything in the tire to cause the flat. I was kinda nervous going home thinking it might flat again, but made it home without incident. This week I've avoided the highway as much as possible even though it's my quickest route. I've been cutting through a farm and even using a railroad track to keep me off the highway. I can't stand all of the noise and fumes from highway traffic. Cool and misty coming into work this morning. Doesn't feel like August.
