The thing that annoys me the most in theory is that cycling and its resources are so sport/performance orientated here in the US.
I appreciate that we have more choices now than ever before, but it often seems to come at the expense of marginalizing, if not outright disregard for the more relaxed and utilitarian side of cycling at the average LBS. |
IMO, drop bar bikes and commuting are an excellent combination. ;)

There's a couple LBS's in my town that don't even stock drop bar bikes, and stuff over $1000 is very unusual. Maybe you haven't found the right shop?

Different strokes for different folks, its all good, but it can be tiresome that drops and sports orientated bikes are predominate. |

There are a few around here too, but naturally they aren't the ones local to me.
And IMO, I rather not ride than ride drops. Different strokes for different folks, its all good, but it can be tiresome that drops and sports orientated bikes are predominate. Outside of MUPs or downtown most bikes I see being ridden are drop bar bikes though. The high end drop bar bikes tends to be prominently displayed however. |
