Any Edmonton commuters here?
I saw this article on the BBC News website this morning about turning part of the city into a frozen path for people to commute on using ice skates. While it's a good idea, I wonder if this path is also a bike path now? The article mentions using the path for bicycle commuting when it's warmer if they make the ice skating path, but not what the land is used for now.

year round edmonton commuter checking in. I can't find a map besides what was featured in the video. I think there's already multi use paths where the freezeway would go but no much landscaping or benches etc, it's a popular homeless person hangout area. There's a path alongside the LRT tracks currently with lots of room beside it for an ice path. I'd certainly hope it wouldn't replace the existing bike path with an ice path, but rather go parallel to it. I have studded tires so I could just ride on the ice.

Not commuting related, but when I was a kid my buddy and I would ride our stingray style bikes on the frozen creek, usually performing semi-infinite catwalks (prolonged wheelies) between obstacles (such as culverts or dams), which were typically 1/4 mile apart or more.
