Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

@BluesDawg, that was you? I thought you were doing some other event and weren't going to be present? I would have pedaled back to say hello had I known it was you.

I didn't take a cup. You shrugged as if to say, "suit yourself." Keep in mind that not everyone partakes.

This photo was taken before the race...

Latest "Gravel Bike" creation. A 2016 Giant ATX 27.5 that I wasn't using much since I got my Felt DD70 Fatbike. Using some Ritchey Logic bars and Tektro brake levers purchased for $20 and a set of Shimano 7speed road bike shifters for $28 I have a surprisingly good riding comfortable machine for limestone trails and lesser roads. I replaced the tires since the photos with Continental Double Fighter 2.0 and find it even faster and fun to ride. A short adjustable stem from MEC and some new cabling rounded out the conversion.

Hi Tom! Although South Western Ontario is predominantly flat or rolling hills, our local area along the Lake Erie shore is a series of shorter yet steep hills carved out by the streams and rivers of yore. Typically a normal ride will have me in the middle of my triple and on the 34T cog to climb out of the river valley or up from the beach at some point. The rest of the time is flat to rolling. The north shore of Lake Erie is a nice place to ride and our local trail system stretches north, west, east and along the Grand River.

So this is my "Gravel Bike" of sorts. It tears up gravel and the road alike. Its more a go anywhere bike.

I would suggest adjusting your saddle so it's level. Or seek out the cheapest bike fit you can find.

This was a puke green Voodoo CX frame a month ago. Pretty pleased with the build. The hideous seatpost broke on the first ride. It's got a black one now.
