I'll just stash the Flite and hang on to it if I like the C17 better. This isn't mine but it's the same one (in basically the same condition).

Man, I know these have a loyal following, but I could never get comfortable on the flite. When I first started riding, I had same saddle problems and everyone said I need to get a Flite, so I got a top of the line Flite Gel Ti and then had big time saddle issues. I sold it for $20 at a swap meet. If only I had known it would be a classic 18 years later!

Yeah, I don't know if it is necessarily the most comfortable saddle for my needs or I wouldn't be looking. Maybe I just need it adjusted properly? Like you it was a popular choice back in the day. I'll hang on to it for nostalgia I guess lol but I'm looking forward to giving the C17 a try.

I think the Flite became iconic because it was the first (commercial) lightweight saddle. I rode them exclusively for years, and even grabbed an extra when they went out of production, I was so committed. However, as I was forced to move on, other lightweight saddles were available and I found them more comfy. The original Flite still looks great, though, and is rightfully iconic.

ZOMG a Schwinn S-series!! I have the same bike in the same size - These are seriously under-appreciated bikes! I tried to modernize mine a bit with 27.5" wheels, a 1x drivetrain, and a slightly modded stance with different length front/rear shocks - but with the paint and drop bar, you took it to a whole different level for sure! Anyway, here's mine:

A bike a built up a couple months back. Otso means the spirit of the bear in Finnish mythology, and well, I'm Finish, so I had to buy it.

Super nice. I just stripped mine to the frame and am getting ready to sell it. I love the bike and the way it handle but it's just too small for me. All the parts are going on my 97 Schwinn Moab.

Here's a sneak peek....

Something about the Rove ST - they really got it right. Comfy as heck for long days, and a total shredder. I don't know how the new one is--they changed a few things I think, but this one's a keeper for sure.

I'm with you. Bought a bike that was lightly used and the previous owner had installed one which I didn't know anything about. Rode it to the shop where I picked out a new saddle and tossed the old one in the trash, two of the guys working their both dove for the can to get it. Wished I known what they cost, could have gotten lunch out of it instead but the whole ride to the shop was painful.

How do you like the crests for gravel? I had a set of the previous gen crests and they were a bit flexy for my purposes (200 pounds over here) but I think the mk3s are supposed to be better.

That's some great coverage on that front fender. What fenders are they?

I built these last spring knowing that I'd be getting a gravel bike sooner than later. It's 32h front and rear and DB with aluminum nips. I'm 140lbs and dropping.

I rode them through the summer on my mountain bike and 2.2 tires with no issues. I hit a few bits of xc gnarlitude with them. They were true when I pulled them off.

Once on the SX, I did get a wider and heavier wheelset for the MTB.

I'm only a few rides in and so far no issues.

The obvious lack of aero is obvious. I didn't buy them for that.

They went tubeless painlessly but I did overinflate once and blow off the rim. Scared the neighbors and the dog. A standard 23 wide rim over 100g heavier probably wouldn't do that. No other issues since.

The only time I really railed them, I was so cold that I couldn't feel anything. No clue how they performed. Other than that, my rides have been painful and mellow, since I really got out of shape in the winter.

The latest form of this Trek 750 includes a Kalloy branded Nitto imitation seatpost to replace the OEM seatpost that kept slipping. Front derailleur was swapped from XT 737 to Ultegra. I'm pretty happy with this setup, put 7 hrs in the saddle on mixed terrain with no issues.

Hey thanks! It's a Trek 412 from 1980 (I think...) rattle canned by a previous owner. It's proving to be a solid choice for mixed surfaces.

I would love to bring to life an older Trek frame. So many great builds out there. Two right here. Love it.

I'm impressed that there are dual pivot calipers that can clear Maxxis Ramblers, I had no idea. The bike looks great btw, looks ridden!

Love looking at all the new and older repurposed Gravel Bikes - hoping to be able to post mine soon!

Here is the Black Heart bike I had built - Ti frame, Shimano GRX with some Enve bits (and AG25 wheels).
