My vintage 1992 Koga-Miyata Traveller touring bike turned gravel. 40x622 tyres and an Ultegra 2x 11 Deore drivetrain. Microshift bar-ends are on their way... somewhere but they are sold out everywhere in Europe.
New stickers are being made in the original style with the text "Graveller" http://i.imgur.com/Q4xXx6w.jpg http://i.imgur.com/mDp5WsI.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PZTnMbZ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/NPjFJSJ.jpg |

The flared drop bars from the BeachRacer do feel very comfortable and I think I do want to use these or something very similar.
The Koga model is sold under a number of different names like the Dajia Cycleworks Far Bar, Genetic Digest, Satori Boondocks or the Origin8 Gary Sweep OS. http://i.imgur.com/32Wam8C.jpg http://i.imgur.com/POpnonP.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Ta6vBu6.jpg |

So been riding this for a few months now. Had it built cause I wanted something similar to a Cutthroat but with my limitations this was the best I could do.
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...063fdad809.jpg I love the handling so much that I bought a sus fork for it for even more power. I don't think it'll be allowed on this sub-forum once that comes.... |

My vintage MTB to drop bar conversion. Eventually, I'd like to buy a true modern gravel bike, Not in the cards right now.
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e7efa2b284.jpg After All our bikes are "gravel" these days. 15-20 or more year old mountain bikes with slicks and rigid forks, flat bars though. |

Looks good, not just for a mismash bike build, but just in general- it looks cool. If the frame and fork were one color, I wouldnt have thought twice of it being an original frameset from the side. The front pick gives the biplane away. An old school OX frame and biplane fork?!?! Super cool match right there. The house brand frames from Performance/Nashbar/REI/etc back in the 80s and 90s contained a lot of really quality tubed frames. Tange 1, TT OX, etc. |

Built this up last Fall, a SBC 6061 all-road. A couple changes here and there. Most recent were the Goodyear F1 32c tubeless tires and a Rotor INPower crankset. Once the hand built PWB gravel wheelset gets here, it’ll finally see some non-paved terrain.

https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...a0efd67dd.jpeg Nice nice! The mash tape goes perfectly. |
^ quite the aggressive gravel position in the drops. dont see many full bend bars either.
Love the rootbeer color(or whatever they call it). And the tires look great- I almost bought a pair of 32s for my main road bike a few months ago, but punted on risk and just bought some slick GK tires. Those Eagles look sweet! |

I built these up with GK 38s and recently pulled them off because I wanted a more road specific, faster rolling tire. Plus, the GK 38s will be going onto the PWB Kinlin-gravel wheelset once it gets here. These F1s are exactly what I was hoping for. As a long time fan and avid user of Schwalbe tires, these F1s have left a very good impression. Good enough that I might even pull off the Addix 30c tires on the Helix and replace it with F1s too. |

Gravel bikes are just '86 Ritchey Ascents?.... Maybe with a Microshift Acolyte 8 speed setup using a modified old "Deer Head" friction shifter and a Surly chainring. And some Soma Oxford bars. Willing to consider less aggressive tires when the old Ground Controls wear out. For now they actually roll pretty well.
The purpose of this bike is just for getting the mail, short impromptu rides on the local gravel roads around my house. For proper adventures and longer rides Ive got the Gorilla Monsoon. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...992500767d.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...0b4da2311a.jpg |
Converted this OG 1994 Stumpy to 1x10 dropbar. I call it The Warthog.
