Thanks, guys.
The frame is a custom job by Shawver Cycles in SF with a Vicious Cycles fork. As you might imagine steel + disc brakes isn't the lightest combo, but with the tubulars it's manageable. I'll cut down the post and steerer and do shorter housing runs now that the position is dialed in
The bars are Salsa Cowbell 2s. I like them a lot.

Thanks.
It's a full Rival build except for an Ultegra 6600 crank and BB7 road brakes. Lots of used parts (CK headset, Thomson post, some cheapie SPDs I got for free, a well-worn Flite). Gearing is 44/39 and 12-26.
The wheels are WTB Laser Disc Lite hubs I laced to Mavic tubular rims (GP4 rear, Reflex front) with DT comps. Rotors are Alligator iWave. Tires are Racing Ralphs. I'm running XT skewers on these and my clincher set.
Might build another set of tubulars for spares/different conditions, but otherwise it's done until stuff starts breaking.

My brand new 2012 Kona Jake. 59cm. Because I got the '12 instead of the '13 it was a great deal (and the color scheme on the '13 is boring as hell anyway).
Diggin' this bike so far.

Love the new Konas!
I'll post my latest Kona.
Picked up a Major Jake/Rad Jake, & in the middle of building her up for next year. Probably going to sell my Jake the Snake when she's done.

I've been racing on my 2008 Kona Major Jake for the past two years.
It's an outstanding bike. The three seasons before that I raced on a 2008 Kona Jake, which I switched over to flat bars and brought out a couple of time this year just for old times' sake (and because the courses felt a bit mountain bikey).
I've also got a 2013 Kona Jake, which so far I've only used for commuting.
A few of the numbers changed, but it feels very similar to the older models. I just put some 700x35 Schwalbe Marathon Supremes on it.
Anwyay, I guess what I'm saying is I love the Konas too.

great!
I'm hoping they put disc brakes on the higher end models soon.
I have my Opus Sentiero as my commuter, & I picked up Brodie Khan 29er for my winter rig.
What can I say...I like to support local/Canadian companies.
Hate to admit it, but I find myself riding my CXer's much more than my road bike. I love my Defy, but I can do everything & more on any of my CXer's just a good as I can on my Defy. I built my Defy so I wouldn't stick out in group rides, but honestly I'm more comfortable on my CXer's.
Its almost like my Defy is my summer trainer, for my CXer's.

My CXer s are my "go to" bikes.
I have only picked up my Brodie cheap on year end clear out.
Why put my CXer's through unneeded winter salt abuse.

That's a big part of it for sure, but I also just like road bikes. I've pretty much decided to unload some things (including one cross-ish bike) to free up space and funds to build up a decent fender-friendly road bike next year.
