Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

My New Cross Bike - All-City Nature Boy

My New, also first, Cross Bike!

Picked up an All-City Nature Boy. A year old model that was in a shop, so I saved big dollars on it. Color is not black, but Blackened Blue, it has blue, green and purple metal flake under the clear, really shows when out in the sun.

Decided the bike need some color, other than black. So I purple taped the bars, then bought purple brake hangers, a purple stem cap and purple crank bolts. Probably went overboard, but I like it.

Hopefully I will get to ride it this week, raining like crazy right now here.

Just finished my newest build. Comes in a hair over 22 lbs., not too shabby for steel frame, disc brakes, 29er rims/massive tires and cheap SPD pedals...

Rides like a dream.

Haven't posted a pic of the Yeti since I got it two years ago. Nothing has changed since. I have gone through two cross seasons and it rides great so I won't change anything until components etc. start wearing out. Just finished cleaning and lubing it up for summer storage.

Yea yea I know. I now spend most of my time on the road bike, mt bike and tandem all in that order. But once the last road race of the season is done then the Yeti is the only bike I ride and she gets ridden hard.

I think the white stem looks good, and the pics aren't that bad.

Also agree the Yeti Arc-X with the pink tape is super sexy!

I dont have a professional camera, just iphone 4s and that is the best it can get =/ sorry
About the stem, the original saddle was white so stem wasnt upfront as it looks now, but the saddle was too uncomfortable i had to change it.

The pics were fine and I enjoyed them. And the white stem is fine too, would probably look better with a white saddle, but still cool IMO. That dude is obviously just grumpy.

How has she treated you? Looks like a very sweet ride to me! Anything exciting to report?

Found a good deal and picked this up last week, went out a few times and I really like it. Couldn't be happier, as I always dreamed of owning a carbon bike, though frankly never thought I would buy a Trek.

I picked up this 2008 SOMA Double Cross frame and fork w/ CK headset off of eBay two months ago. I'd been looking for a touring/commuting/cx frame like this, and SOMAfab definitely had my vote. Two years ago I almost bought a SOMA Saga to relocate to the West. Instead I upgraded my GT Rebound into an Xtracycle and toured/relocated from FL > CO.

Completed this build a little over a month ago. I've since added a Toba robin rack on the back, and will soon get a set of panniers. Then I should be ready to use this as my light-touring bike, as it's already become my main commuting bike.
Bike build #don'tremember, 1 of 4 bikes I currently ride
Been carfree fo' life and lovin' it!
Colorado is awesome for cycling!

Great job on the bike - with Campy too!

I'm in the early build stages using a steel Kona frame with Campy Centaur. Had a tough time finding a 1-1/8 non-tapered carbon disc fork with iso mount - for under $500. I'd like to know what wheels / hubs / lacing pattern you have.

Here's a little departure from the rest of the thread, curious as to what people here think of my old bike turned CX/gravel machine:
