Bay Area cross races
Does anyone know of any cross races going on in the Bay Area (San Fran) in late November? I'll be spending Thanksgiving weekend in Tiburon & wont be able to survive a weekend without getting my cross fix. I'll be coming down from Seattle & would be willing to travel roughly an hour or so away from Tiburon to race. Any info would appreciated. Thanks!!

thanks,
I've found all these links but they all are still pretty vague. The CCCX looks like they have one T-Giving weekend but doesnt say where its at. I guess i take for granted that up in the NW we are so CX crazy that the schedules are out in July/August & early Sept we are already checking out the courses. I'll try to get in touch with CCCX & see where there #5 race is. Thanks again for a quick response.

we have a few venues that we use over & over every year. We usually have a work party the weekend before to get the courses in tip top shape, then pre ride the hell out of them. its nice have a mental edge come Sunday. evey bit counts!!

Anyone in the Bay Area make it to the Pilarcitos race yesterday at Candlestick? (https://www.pilarcitos.com) It was my first CX race. I loved it. I'm going to do a couple other races in this series cos I had such a good time. Here's a link to a few pictures my Pops took of me:

I was there and I remember seeing you and your posse. It was a good course too. I can't wait till Golden Gate Park. I'm number 319, maybe you saw me without a saddle on my bike... it fell off during the last 1/2 of the last lap. Pedalling standing up the rest of the way after 4 1/2 laps was a beeyotch.

I started to feel the seat twist around but I thought maybe the seatpost was loose in the frame. Nope, eventually the clamp bolt worked it's way loose and the saddle came off. Maybe the American Classic seatposts aren't up to snuff for cross racing. I'll tighten it up and see how it goes next round.

This one is in Sonoma on Saturday the 27th.
It's about 1/2 hr north of SF.

You can do this one on Saturday, then the CCCX one on Sunday.

Nice Pics Bpave... My first cx race as well. About freakin' time since I've had cx bikes for the past 4 years. I was on a black Surly Cross Check, yellow jersey. I was a few spots behind you guys, luckily I didn't get lapped though.
BlastRadius, I hope your seat waited to fall off until after that hellabumpy part near the second dismount.![EEK!](https://www.bikeforums.net/images/smilies/eek.gif)

Yeah, i just noticed that they changed the date on this to the 27th. I will defineately hit this race since its much closer than Manzanita. I just talked to a friend of mine who raced there last year & she said it was a pretty cool course. She made the trip w/ another local guy who tore up the Masters class. Should be fun. Not sure if the wife would let me get away with a double weekend while I'm on a mini vacation but I'll try. Sonoma for sure though. Thanks for the tip.

Heard about that. But I thought people were talking about the first race where that happened. Good to hear you finished w/o it.
Bummed though because I got pulled before being able to do the +1 lap. I think the 2 lead Men's B past me on the last 1/2 lap (5th I think) but I don't recall a C passing me. I guess the C's "lapping" counts if it's a Men's B as well. At least I beat a few more people than last race. Or I can tell myself that I used up my "gas" racing on Sat too...![Embarrassment](https://www.bikeforums.net/images/smilies/redface.gif)
I'm the guy in the yellow and black jersey in one of the background pix.

It was the first lap...
I think I was happy that I looked down to see why the course seemed so hard to pedal... I was still in the big ring from warming up on the pavement, DOH!

Thanks for the link. I didn't even know they were out there taking photos. Otherwise I obviously would have worn some kind of gaudy gold chain to go with my zipped down jersey
.

Must have shot me toward the end when I was overheating.
BR I think you (or someone on a similar Redline) passed me on the last lap. It was a nice move. I didn't have any gas left to chase you down.

That was you I saw with no saddle after the race. I was wondering if it was some new minimalist approach to racing. : )
I found my pic as well... I think that this was later in the race but not sure.
