Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

While there may be gravel on the Arrowhead 135 route, you ain't gonna see it cuz it's gonna be buried under the ice and snow you're riding over!

Trans Iowa has a website: https://www.transiowa.blogspot.com/

Can't wait for the GM next weekend, so a buddy and I will probably be doing some gravel riding in eastern Iowa this weekend.

That looks intriguing - long drive from home though. If I'm still around in September I may jump on it...assuming the wife doesn't mind me being gone two weekends in a row (it's the weekend after bridge to bridge).

I'm hijacking a bit here, but do any of you have good tire suggestions for steep gravel? My cross bike has 700x32 stock tires on it now.

TIA

Fire road, gravel endurance event/races, are, quite a different ,
than following the tradition of Cyclocross, where the course
is designed to force you off the bike,
with obstacles placed in your, path to deal with
repeated, each and every lap, for an hour + 1 lap..

for the unpaved road the tire choice will be towards a heavier casing..

Conti travel contact was their offering for unpaved road travel..
IDK, about those in a hurry, in a group to compete with..
I'm just a tourist commuter, guy.
