Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Need help on size/ bike purchase

I am looking at buying the nashbar steel cyclocross bike possibly. There is a 20% off sale today and it looks like the only size they have in stock is 60cm. I am 5'11.5" and 33" inseam. I was thinking this may be a little large on me but im not sure how cyclocross bikes are fit. My LBS store also has a Raleigh RX bike for $849 in 59 cm as another option. Also considering the fantom cross as well. The online bikes have great components but no local support/test ride so I am not to sure. Would these bikes be to large for me most likely?

Thanks

Yes, I think you're more in the 57 range.

You should know your bike inseam; I'm 6 ft with a 35.75 BI, and anything larger than 58 is a painful reach. 54-56 is where I land, but I like a compact geometry on most bikes. Cyclocross bikes do not have a compact geometry.
