Entry Level CX Bike
Hey Everyone,
Just registered my account today and am excited to solicit any feedback I can from CX'ers. Long story short, my wife and I just purchased Trek road bikes in August and we love them. I've recently been looking at CX as an offseason activity during the fall/winter months. It doesn't get super cold here in coastal NC but it looks like a really fun sport that would be a change of pace from road riding. I have absolutely no experience and plan on finding a CX clinic nearby to get some practice which leads me to my question...what bike should I get for my budget? I want to keep it under $750 so a used bike is my best route I think. I currently looking at a 2011 Fuji Cross 3.0 @ $475 and a Specialized Crux Elite @ $650. Both bikes are quoted as being in good to excellent condition. Which one of these bikes would be the best in your opinions? Fuji has Tiagra components vs Sora for the Specialized which has me leaning Fuji....but...the Specialized looks like it has internal cabling which sounds better for CX. Your thoughts?
