Duke's Cycles, Toronto

Hey, back in Toronto for the weekend and happened by a place called Duke's Cycles. Man, nice shop!! Lucky TOians.

That's all! Cheers!

Oh.. and my beloved Torontians, fix & clean yer bikes chained along the sidewalks! They are a hot mess! And everytime I come up here, I don't know how many times I see you guys riding around with almost flat tires, get a floor pump already!

Okay.. now that is all!

Duke's shop was destroyed last year in a major fire. I can't wait till their new shop is rebuilt (they are in a temporary location).

THAT'S a temporary location??? It looks great! Watch a guy fit a bike on a teenager, he was nice, explaining how to adjust it when she's ready to get a more competitive position, etc. Everybody was cool and the production looked GREAT!

Yeah, the shop looks pretty good. Lots of amazing bikes in there!

Thats part of what makes the Toronto cycling scene interesting! All those old pieced together bikes that have been stolen, sold, stolen, sold and rebuilt 15 times over. I love looking at the bikes when driving down queen street, etc. lol

Man... some of them are an absolute mess! And some just break your heart. Saw a sweet Peugeot, still salvageable, locked up, dying a sloooow death. Sigh.

I head into the big smoke every once in awhile to check out the shops and yes Dukes has some very nice equipment and usually some pretty good deals.
