Is it easy to replace a motor/wheel
Hi! I am disabled and have used a Raleigh electric bike for years in place of a mobility scooter but now my motor has gone and supplier says a replacement will not be available til November! As I rely on the bike to get out I am trying to figure a solution that doesn't mean buying a replacement. Any ideas very gratefully received. I'm in the uk.

Have you tried pedelecs.co.uk? You may be able to replace just the motor in your wheel. If Dveh answers you'll get the best advice available, but you may need pictures of the motor.

Are you sure it is the motor? There is a lot that can go wrong. Motors aren't horribly expensive (the batteries are). I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't just buy a new motor/wheel from the aftermarket. To do that, you would need to know the power output of your battery/controller and match the motor (and electrical connections) to that (among other things) |
Thanks so much. Collecting it from bike shop who couldn't help today. Will see if I can get that info from them.
