I've been commuting on a regular road bike as much as 3,500 miles a year the past 2-3 years, and I haven't lost anything either, and in fact have gained a few pounds! I'm sure my eating habits have NOTHING to do with it.

One of the reasons that I started riding was so I could eat anything and everything I wanted... in excess. I almost never find myself eating while actually riding, however. The motor allows me to stay on the bike for longer periods of time and distance but also apparently takes the majority of the load. I just started pulling my trailer for training, I guess I will see if that makes any difference.
